I created this ring for my wife Diane. It is made from two interlocking pieces, one in white gold and one in yellow gold. Casting interlocking pieces can be problematic because you always get a small amount of metal shrinkage during the casting process. The pieces may not easily slot together if you don’t allow for the shrinkage. I enlarged each piece slightly in CAD by about 3% so that the final pieces were very close to the correct size. I still had to do a little bit of manual filing but this is all part of the polishing process anyway.
